I had a severe case of jock itch that spread over my legs and thighs in circular patterns. I completed the medications prescribed by my doctor, except for 4 days of Ceastra-XL, and the infection appeared to be cured. However, I am now noticing small new spots in the same areas, and they are very itchy. I live in a humid region, am health-conscious, a sportsperson, and use Persona soap daily. Please suggest a permanent solution to prevent this recurrence.
It is common for jock itch to recur, especially in humid areas or if the full course of antifungal medication, such as Ceastra-XL (Itraconazole), was not completed. Keep the affected areas completely dry, wear loose cotton clothing, and finish the prescribed treatment. If new itchy spots persist, consult your doctor again for possible longer-term antifungal therapy or a preventive cream.
