My right ear is painful, and there is some fluid with very little discharge. I also have a sore throat. My ENT doctor prescribed Xylotik nasal drops, Defocort 6 mg, Cepy-O 200, Rekof CC, and Tgpan. Are these medications appropriate for me?
Yes, these medications are generally appropriate for treating an ear infection and a sore throat. The antibiotic Cepy-O 200 (Cefpodoxime) fights the infection, while Xylotik nasal drops (Xylometazoline) and the steroid Defocort (Deflazacort) help drain fluid and reduce painful swelling in your ear. Be sure to complete the full course of antibiotics as prescribed and take Tgpan (Pantoprazole) on an empty stomach to protect your stomach lining from the other medications.
