I have symptoms of eye flu. How should it be treated?
Eye flu, also called infectious conjunctivitis, is usually viral and causes redness, watery eyes, and irritation. It often resolves on its own within one to two weeks without specific treatment. You can relieve symptoms by applying clean, cool compresses and using lubricating eye drops (artificial tears). It is very important to wash your hands regularly and avoid touching your eyes or sharing towels to prevent it from spreading. Please see a doctor if your symptoms worsen or if you notice any changes in your vision.
