My periods started on the 18th, and after intercourse on the 24th, I took iPill on the 26th. Since then, I have been having lower stomach pain, severe vaginal pain, and white discharge from the vagina. Could this be due to the medicine or some infection?

After taking iPill, some women notice temporary hormonal changes such as lower abdominal cramps, pelvic pain, nausea, fatigue, irregular bleeding, or changes in vaginal discharge. Since your symptoms started after taking the pill, the medicine may be contributing to the discomfort. Mild white discharge and stomach pain can sometimes settle gradually over a few days as hormone levels return to normal. Still, severe vaginal pain should not be ignored completely because irritation after intercourse, urinary infection, vaginal infection, or pelvic inflammation can also cause similar symptoms. If the discharge develops a bad smell, itching, burning sensation, or changes to yellow or green colour, infection becomes more likely. Stress and anxiety after taking emergency contraception can also make body discomfort feel worse in some cases. Try to rest well, stay hydrated, and avoid using random vaginal creams or washes for now. If the pain becomes more severe, a fever develops, bleeding becomes heavy, or the next period is significantly delayed, consult your doctor.
