I'm prescribed with clotrimasol clocip cream?athletes' foot. My toe has been slightly swollen since I started, and pressing on the nerves hurts. For the previous two weeks, I had been using the cream nonstop. Is it typical, or should I see a bone or another physician? If I stop exposing the cream, will it stop?
Mild irritation can occur with Clotrimazole, but swelling, pain on pressure, and nerve-like pain are not typical for simple Tinea pedis and may suggest secondary infection or inflammation. You can stop the cream for a couple of days to see if irritation settles, but don?t leave the fungal infection untreated?switch to another antifungal if advised. It?s better to consult a doctor (dermatologist or general physician) to check for infection rather than a bone specialist.
