Since he got hand sanitizer in his eye, tobramycin and lubricating drops will help prevent infection and soothe irritation. To make it easier, have him lie down with his eyes closed. Place a drop in the inner corner of his closed eye; when he blinks, the medicine will naturally flow in. Space the two drops by 5 to 10 minutes. Combiflam syrup (ibuprofen/paracetamol) helps with pain but won't heal the eye directly. Keep using the eye drops as prescribed. If his eye remains very red, swollen, or cloudy after 24 hours, please consult his pediatrician.
