Cosmolite Cream (Hydroquinone, Mometasone, and Mretinoin) is a potent combination medicine and should be stopped under medical supervision. It is usually best to gradually reduce its use to minimise skin sensitivity and rebound pigmentation (worsening or return of dark skin spots after stopping treatment) caused by the steroid component (Mometasone). Safer alternatives for managing hyperpigmentation include azelaic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C, and regular sunscreen use. A doctor may also consider a topical retinoid or tranexamic acid, depending on your skin condition.
