I previously took Crina NCR 10 mg for irregular periods. After stopping the medication, I got pregnant with an empty sac and was prescribed an MTP Kit. I had bleeding from March 6th to 12th, but my periods have not returned yet. I am currently not taking any medication and am only using condoms. Why is my period delayed after using the MTP Kit, and what medication should I take to restart my menstrual cycle?

Your question covers side effects of the MTP Kit, reasons for period delay after its use, and options to restart menstruation.
Common side effects of medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) kits may include bleeding, cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, and fatigue. Bleeding can last longer or be heavier than a normal period. If bleeding is very heavy, prolonged, or accompanied by severe pain or fever, medical attention is needed.
Periods can be delayed after using an MTP Kit due to hormonal changes caused by the medications, incomplete abortion, or the uterus needing time to heal. Usually, menstruation resumes within a few weeks, but delay beyond 6 weeks warrants a doctor’s evaluation to rule out retained tissue or infection.
Medications like norethisterone (for example, Crina-NCR 10 mg tablet) may be prescribed to regulate or restart menstrual cycles after MTP. However, this should only be started after a healthcare provider confirms complete abortion and rules out complications. Avoid self-medicating, and consult a gynecologist to get personalized treatment and follow-up care.
Always consult a gynecologist to evaluate your current condition and safely manage menstrual irregularities after MTP Kit use.
