My nearly 3-year-old daughter recently had a stomach bug and now has a fever of 100.8?F, a cough, a runny nose with yellowish mucus, and loose stools containing mucus; since I have given her Meftal P, Crocin DS, Kofarest PD, and just started her on Augmentine DDS today, is this likely a viral infection or does she need blood tests, will the Augmentine DDS help, and should I continue giving her Crocin DS at the same time?
Since you have started Augmentin DDS (amoxicillin-clavulanate), please consult her pediatrician before stopping it, as antibiotics only treat bacterial issues. Crucially, please do not give Crocin DS (paracetamol) and Meftal P (mefenamic acid) together, as combining these fever reducers can strain her liver and kidneys. Stick to one, as directed by her doctor. Keep her hydrated with plenty of fluids. Blood tests aren't immediately needed, but please have her evaluated by her pediatrician to safely manage her medications and monitor her recovery.
