What are some iron-rich foods I can include in my diet to help manage anemia?

If you have anaemia, improving your diet can make a big difference. Include iron-rich foods such as green leafy vegetables (like spinach), jaggery, dates, raisins, beetroot, lentils, chickpeas, and soy products. If you eat non-vegetarian food, eggs, chicken, and red meat are also good sources of iron. It is equally important to include vitamin C-rich foods like lemon, oranges, amla, or tomatoes along with your meals, as they help your body absorb iron better. Try to avoid drinking tea or coffee immediately after meals because they can reduce iron absorption. Eating a balanced diet regularly and taking iron supplements if prescribed by your doctor will help improve your haemoglobin levels over time.
