I am a type 2 diabetic taking Metformin 500 mg twice daily and Roltesim (Simvastatin 10 mg) at night. My pharmacy keeps changing the brand of Simvastatin with the same dose each time. Is this safe for my health?
It is generally safe to use different brands of Simvastatin 10 mg as long as they contain the same active ingredient and strength. Minor differences in appearance or inactive ingredients usually do not affect how the medicine works. Continue taking your medications as prescribed, but inform your doctor promptly if you notice any side effects, changes in how you feel, or have concerns about effectiveness after a brand change.
