Danazol and Dinofirst are different medicines used to manage endometriosis, but they work in different ways. It may help reduce pelvic pain, painful periods, and progression of endometriosis, but it can sometimes cause side effects such as weight gain, acne, oily skin, mood changes, or unwanted hair growth because of its hormone-related effects. Dinofirst contains dienogest, which is a newer progesterone-based medicine commonly used to control endometriosis symptoms. It works by reducing the activity and growth of endometriosis tissue with a more targeted hormonal effect. Many women tolerate dienogest better for long-term use compared to danazol, although irregular bleeding, headache, breast discomfort, or mood changes can still occur in some cases.
