Drez-V Gel is intended to treat vaginal infections. After inserting the gel, it is generally recommended to wait at least 6–8 hours or overnight before having sexual intercourse to allow the medication to be absorbed, reduce leakage, and avoid irritation. Since the gel is treating an infection, it is better to avoid sexual intercourse until the infection has cleared, both to ensure effective treatment and to prevent spreading the infection. Applying the gel at bedtime is preferred to maximise contact time and treatment effectiveness.

Drez V gel is usually prescribed for vaginal infections that commonly present with discharge along with itching. If itching occurs without discharge, it may be due to irritation, allergy, dryness, or other noninfectious causes, and using such medication may not be appropriate. A sticky, transparent vaginal discharge that appears during sexual thoughts or emotional arousal is usually normal. This happens because the body naturally produces lubrication when a woman feels excited, attracted, or emotionally connected. The discharge is commonly clear or slightly whitish, slippery, and without a strong smell. Hormonal changes during different parts of the menstrual cycle can also increase this type of discharge. In most cases, treatment is not needed if there is no itching, burning, bad odour, pelvic pain, or unusual colour. Wearing breathable cotton underwear, maintaining gentle hygiene, and avoiding excessive washing inside the vagina may help you stay comfortable. Stress and anxiety about the discharge can sometimes make you notice it more frequently. Consult your doctor if the discharge becomes yellow, green, thick like curd, foul-smelling, or associated with itching or pain, as these may suggest an infection that needs treatment.

A small amount of blood-tinged discharge after inserting Drez-V Gel (Metronidazole 1% w/w + Miconazole 1% w/w) may occur in some cases due to minor irritation of the vaginal lining or slight trauma during insertion with the applicator. However, vaginal bleeding is not considered a common expected effect and should be monitored. If it is a small amount, occurs only once, and stops on its own, you can continue using the gel only as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Avoid inserting the applicator forcefully. If the bleeding continues, increases, recurs, or is associated with pelvic pain, fever, foul-smelling discharge, unusual vaginal bleeding, or pregnancy, consult your gynaecologist for further evaluation.
