I have had loose motions around seven times since last night, along with stomach cramps, bloating, and frequent belching. What could be causing this problem?
Having loose motions several times since last night, along with stomach cramps, bloating, and frequent belching, can be caused by food poisoning, a stomach infection, contaminated food or water, indigestion, a viral stomach bug, or irritation from eating oily or outside food. Gas and stomach irritation can also lead to repeated belching and discomfort. If loose stools continue, they may cause dehydration, weakness, and loss of appetite. To prevent dehydration, make sure to drink plenty of fluids like ORS, coconut water, or plain water. Eating light foods such as rice, banana, toast, curd, khichdi, or soup can help soothe your stomach for a while. Try to avoid spicy foods, oily meals, alcohol, milk products, tea, and coffee until your stomach feels better. Getting enough rest and staying away from outside food for a few days can also help you recover. If you notice a fever, blood in your stool, severe vomiting, strong stomach pain, dizziness, less urine, or increasing weakness, please consult a doctor.
