I have round, blackish, and very itchy allergic patches on my legs that appear during the winter. I previously used Elosalic ointment prescribed by a doctor, but the allergy has returned. What medicine or ointment should I use to treat this?

Your symptoms suggest discoid (nummular) eczema, which commonly flares up during dry winter months. The dark color is likely post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from itching and inflammation. Since Elosalic (a strong steroid and salicylic acid combination) previously worked, you may need a similar prescription topical steroid to control the current flare. Please consult your doctor for a proper evaluation and prescription, as long-term steroid use must be monitored. For immediate care, apply a thick, fragrance-free emollient (like CeraVe or Cetaphil cream) multiple times daily, avoid hot showers, and use gentle, soap-free cleansers to help restore your skin barrier.
