Is it safe to take my medications?Ftin (fluoxetine), Etizola, Cetrizine, and painkillers like Nicip, Odizox, and Sumutab?while getting the rabies vaccine, and will these medicines make the vaccine less effective?
It is entirely safe to continue taking your medications, including Ftin (fluoxetine), Etizola, cetirizine, and painkillers like Nicip, Odizox, or Sumutab, while receiving your rabies vaccine. These medicines will not make the vaccine any less effective. Only medications that weaken your immune system, such as high-dose steroids or chemotherapy, interfere with the rabies vaccine. Your current medications do not affect your immune system in this way. Please be sure to complete your full rabies vaccination schedule as prescribed. If you have any concerns or feel unwell, always feel free to consult your doctor.
