I am noticing darkness around the outer side of both my eyes, and it is making my face look tired and uneven. What could be the reason for this, and how can I reduce it now and improve the skin safely?

Darkness around the outer sides of the eyes is very common and can happen due to a mix of factors like lack of sleep, stress, screen exposure, rubbing the eyes, allergies, dehydration, sun exposure, or natural pigmentation that runs in families. Sometimes dry skin, frequent eye irritation, or sinus and allergy issues can also make the area look darker and tired. Since the skin around the eyes is very delicate, harsh creams or strong scrubbing can actually worsen the pigmentation. Gentle care usually works best. Getting proper sleep, staying hydrated, reducing eye rubbing, and using sunscreen regularly can gradually improve the appearance. A light moisturiser or under-eye cream containing ingredients like niacinamide, caffeine, or vitamin C may help brighten the area slowly without irritating the skin. Cold compresses can also reduce puffiness and tired appearance. Improvement usually takes time, so consistency matters more than using strong products. If the darkness is sudden, worsening, or associated with itching or swelling, it is better to get evaluated for allergy or skin-related causes.
