Fungal infections in the groin area are common and often occur due to excess sweating, heat, friction, or moisture trapped in skin folds. This condition can cause itching, redness, and sometimes a ring-shaped rash on the inner thighs. Keep the affected area clean and dry. Wash it gently once or twice daily and dry it thoroughly, especially after bathing or sweating. Wear loose-fitting cotton underwear and avoid tight clothing, as it can trap moisture and worsen the infection. Change clothes daily and do not share towels or personal items with others. You may use an over-the-counter antifungal cream, such as clotrimazole or terbinafine, twice daily for 2 to 4 weeks. Continue applying it for at least 1 week after the rash improves to prevent recurrence. Avoid using steroid-based creams, as they may worsen fungal infections. Do not scratch the affected area to prevent the spread of the infection. If there is no improvement within 1 to 2 weeks, or if the infection spreads, please consult a doctor for further evaluation and treatment.
