I have oily skin with acne on my face and back. The acne on my back is painful and sometimes bleeds slightly when squeezed, while the acne on my face has white pus. I am using Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Foam, which helps a lot, but I am unsure about further treatment. Could you please advise on the proper medication and let me know if I can use Faceclin AT gel?
Your symptoms suggest moderate acne (pimples) affecting both the face and back. The painful back lesions that sometimes bleed are likely deeper, inflamed acne spots. It is important not to squeeze them, as this may worsen the infection and lead to scarring. Continue using Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Foam, as it is gentle and suitable for oily and acne-prone skin. You may use a topical treatment such as Faceclin AT gel, which contains Adapalene and Clindamycin. Apply a very thin layer at night on clean, dry skin, starting on alternate nights for 1 to 2 weeks, then increase use if your skin tolerates it. Mild dryness or irritation may occur initially. For back acne, a benzoyl peroxide wash once daily may help reduce bacteria and oil. Use a light non-comedogenic moisturiser and sunscreen during the day. If painful or deep lesions persist, you may need oral medication prescribed by a dermatologist after examination.
