I have been using Faceclin gel for acne marks for the past month as advised by a doctor, but I am not seeing any improvement. What should I do next?
It is common not to see a clear improvement after just one month of using Faceclin gel (Clindamycin and Nicotinic acid). This medicine mainly helps with active acne (pimples) by reducing bacteria and inflammation. It does not work quickly on acne marks, which are often darker spots or uneven skin tone and take more time to fade. If you are tolerating the gel without irritation, continue using it as advised by your doctor. Make sure you apply a gentle moisturiser and use sunscreen every morning, as sun exposure can make marks darker and slow recovery. Avoid squeezing or picking spots, as this can worsen scarring. If there is still no improvement after 6 to 8 weeks, you should go back to your doctor. They may suggest other treatments, such as retinoid creams, azelaic acid, or chemical peels, depending on your skin type. If you notice dryness, burning, or worsening acne, seek medical advice earlier.
