Health queries for Feburic 20 Tablet 10's

Have a query?

I have gout with occasional swelling in my legs. My uric acid level is 6.8 mg/dL. Even after reducing protein intake, I notice symptoms after eating foods like dal. Are there any home remedies or dietary changes that can help lower uric acid levels and improve kidney function? I have also tried Faburic 25 mg, but it causes increased joint pain in the morning. Please advise on further management.
Gout is caused by the build-up of uric acid in the body, which can lead to joint pain and swelling. A uric acid level of 6.8 mg/dL is only mildly raised, but gout symptoms can still occur depending on diet, hydration, and individual sensitivity. Foods like dal and other pulses contain moderate purines, so instead of completely avoiding them, try reducing portion size and balancing meals with more vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, as good hydration helps the kidneys remove uric acid more effectively. Limit sugary drinks, fruit juices, and alcohol, as these can increase uric acid levels. Maintaining a healthy body weight and avoiding crash diets is also important. Some people find relief by adding cherries or citrus fruits to their diet, as these may help reduce inflammation. Gentle regular exercise can also support joint health and kidney function. Feburic 20 mg (febuxostat) may sometimes cause joint pain as a side effect when starting treatment. This should be discussed with your doctor, as you may need a short course of anti-inflammatory medicine during flare-ups or a dose adjustment. Regular kidney function tests and follow-up with your doctor are advised to optimise long-term control.
