I have dry skin with pimples. What could be causing this, and how can I treat it?
Dry skin with pimples can occur when the skin loses moisture while oil production continues. This imbalance may be caused by harsh face washes, over-cleansing, hot water, cold weather, or using acne products that dry out the skin. Stress, hormonal changes, and certain cosmetics may also contribute. To treat it, wash your face gently twice a day with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing, as this can worsen dryness and irritation. Use a light moisturiser that does not block pores to keep the skin hydrated. If you use acne treatments, apply them in small amounts and always follow with a moisturiser. Ingredients like salicylic acid can help with pimples, but may need to be introduced gradually to reduce irritation. Drink enough water and maintain a balanced diet. Avoid picking or squeezing pimples, as this can cause marks. If the problem persists or worsens, consult a doctor or dermatologist for proper assessment and treatment.
