I have been experiencing pain in my right shoulder for the past three years. My rheumatoid factor (RA) test is negative. I am currently taking Folitrax-7.5, Hqtor, Folvite, and Hifenac tablets. Are these medications appropriate for my condition, and do they have any side effects?
Pain limited to a single shoulder with a negative RA factor is unlikely to indicate rheumatoid arthritis, which typically affects multiple joints symmetrically. Folitrax-7.5 (Methotrexate), Hqtor (Hydroxychloroquine), Folvite (folic acid), and Hifenac (Aceclofenac) may help relieve symptoms, but long-term use can cause side effects such as stomach irritation, bone marrow suppression, liver or kidney issues, changes in blood pressure, or bone weakening. It is advisable to consult a rheumatologist or orthopaedic specialist to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.
