Could taking the medications Glipy Met, Gluxit M 10 Forte, Pantofirst DSR, Eritel 10/40, Carmax, Placida Plus, Metpure XL, and TONACT ASP 75 for my type 2 diabetes over the last month and a half be causing my dry mouth and the bleeding from my mouth, or could this be happening for another reason?
Several of your prescriptions, especially Placida Plus (flupentixol and melitracen) and Gluxit M (dapagliflozin and metformin), can cause dry mouth as a common side effect. A dry, irritated mouth can make your gums highly sensitive. Additionally, Tonact ASP contains aspirin, a blood thinner that can make these sensitive gums bleed more easily. Please be reassured that this is a manageable issue. I highly recommend speaking with your doctor or dentist before changing any medication. They can safely adjust your treatment or suggest comforting remedies to help keep your mouth moist and healthy.
