My fasting blood sugar is around 171, and after meals it reaches 282 for the last 1 year. I have used Metformin with Pioglitazone, Glimepiride, Glipizide, and Gliclazide, but my sugar levels have not improved. How can I control this better?

Your blood sugar readings are staying quite high, which means your diabetes may not be fully controlled right now. Metformin, Pioglitazone, Glimepiride, Glipizide, and Gliclazide can help many people, but sometimes sugar levels remain high because of an irregular diet, stress, poor sleep, low physical activity, weight gain, or the body becoming less responsive to treatment over time. A detailed medical review is important because your doctor may need to check HbA1c, kidney function, diet pattern, and whether the current treatment plan is suitable for you. In some cases, dose adjustments or different treatment combinations may be required after proper evaluation. Try to reduce sweets, sugary drinks, white rice, bakery foods, and late-night eating. Eating smaller, balanced meals, walking regularly after food, maintaining proper sleep, and checking sugar levels consistently may help improve control gradually. Consult your doctor if you develop excessive thirst, frequent urination, blurred vision, weight loss, severe weakness, or persistently high readings despite treatment.
