Low blood sugar (Hypoglycaemia) can cause symptoms such as sweating, shaking, fast heartbeat, sudden hunger, dizziness, headache, blurred vision, irritability, weakness and difficulty concentrating. In more severe cases, a person may become confused, very drowsy, or may even faint or have seizures. If these symptoms appear, act quickly. Take fast-acting sugar such as a glass of sweet juice, sugar dissolved in water, or glucose tablets. Wait for about 15 minutes and check if symptoms improve. If still low or symptoms continue, repeat the sugar intake. Once you feel better, eat a small snack, such as bread or biscuits, to help maintain your blood sugar levels. If the person becomes unconscious, seek emergency medical help immediately and do not give anything by mouth. Always carry a quick source of sugar and avoid skipping meals, as regular eating helps prevent sudden drops in blood sugar.
