My fasting blood sugar in the morning is usually between 80-90 mg/dL, but 2 hours after dinner, it rises to 145-180 mg/dL. Does this mean I am diabetic or normal? I am currently taking Pantop 40, Omega-3 salmon fish oil capsules, Ashwagandha capsules twice daily, Ecosprin AV 75/10, Pregaba 75, Anxit 0.5, and Zerodol 100. I also have ankylosing spondylitis, had heart bypass surgery 15 years ago, and suffer from depression. Please advise whether I am diabetic and what I should do to control my blood sugar levels.
Your fasting blood sugar of 80-90 mg/dL is within the normal range, and a 2-hour post-meal level of 145-180 mg/dL can be slightly high but does not always confirm diabetes by itself. It is best to check tests like HbA1c or fasting and post-meal blood sugar regularly and review them with your doctor. Maintaining a healthy diet, regular physical activity, weight control, and limiting sugary or high-carbohydrate foods can help keep your blood sugar stable. Since you have other medical conditions and are taking other medicines, it is important to discuss your results with your doctor for proper evaluation and guidance.
