I am suffering from pyorrhea with bleeding gums and bad deposits spreading in my mouth. What treatment or dental care may help control this problem?
Pyorrhea, also called severe gum infection or periodontitis, happens when plaque, tartar, and bacteria build up around the teeth and gums over time. This can cause bleeding gums, bad breath, swollen gums, pus discharge, loose teeth, and dirty deposits around the teeth. Smoking, poor oral hygiene, diabetes, vitamin deficiency, and irregular dental cleaning may worsen the condition. Treatment usually focuses on removing the deposits and controlling gum infection before the teeth become loose. Professional dental scaling and deep cleaning are commonly needed to remove hardened tartar from around the gums. Doctors may also recommend medicated mouthwash, antibiotics in selected cases, and proper brushing techniques to reduce bacterial buildup. Brushing twice daily, flossing carefully, cleaning the tongue, and rinsing the mouth after meals may gradually improve gum health. Ignoring pyorrhea for a long time may damage the supporting bone around the teeth and increase tooth loosening. Severe swelling, pus, difficulty chewing, or persistent bleeding can indicate a more active gum infection and may need proper dental treatment.
