If fasting blood sugar remains high, your doctor may advise adjusting the timing or dose of your current medicine or taking a low dose of metformin or another antidiabetic drug in the evening. Please do not start any new medication on your own, and have your fasting and post-meal sugar levels reviewed regularly by your doctor so your treatment can be adjusted safely.
