My wife has bleeding during defecation along with mild abdominal pain. A rectal examination revealed grade 1 haemorrhoids. The surgeon prescribed Sitcom Forte Tablet for the haemorrhoids and Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice daily and Metronidazole 400 mg three times daily for five days for suspected colitis. I would like to know whether it is safe to take these two antibiotics during lactation.
