I accidentally put Homatropine eye drops in my right eye yesterday at 9:00 PM. Since then, I have had irritation and blurred vision, and I still cannot see properly from that eye. What should I do?
Homatropine eye drops can make your vision blurry for some time because they widen the pupil and temporarily affect the eye?s ability to focus. You may also notice sensitivity to light, mild irritation, or a slight burning sensation after using the drops. In many people, these effects improve within a few hours, but sometimes they can last for a day or two. Until your vision returns to normal, avoid driving, riding a bike, or operating machinery. Try to rest your eyes and wear sunglasses if bright light feels uncomfortable. If the eye feels irritated, you can gently rinse it with clean water. Do not use any other eye drops unless advised by a doctor. Seek medical help immediately if you develop severe eye pain, redness, swelling, headache, nausea, vomiting, or a sudden worsening of vision, as these symptoms may indicate increased pressure inside the eye. If the blurred vision persists for 24 to 48 hours, it is best to consult an eye doctor for a thorough examination.
