I am 26 years old and very lean, weighing 52 kg. I want to improve my physique and build muscle, but I often have a poor appetite and feel full after eating very little, such as 2-3 biscuits. Could you please advise on any safe medicine or tonic to improve my appetite and help me eat more? What are the possible side effects of such medicines, and can they be stopped once my appetite and weight improve?

Appetite-stimulating medicines like Hungry Syrup can help increase your hunger and improve food intake, which may support muscle building in cases of poor appetite.
These medicines contain agents such as Cyproheptadine that block histamine action and promote hunger, making them useful when you have difficulty eating enough. Hungry Syrup is one such Indian-approved medicine, prescribed to stimulate appetite safely under medical supervision.
Typical side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, blurred vision, dry mouth or throat, and restlessness. These usually resolve on their own but should be reported if persistent or worsening.
It is essential to use such medicines only as prescribed by a doctor, who will monitor your response and adjust treatment accordingly. Avoid alcohol and certain other medications during use, and refrain from driving if drowsy.
Once your appetite and weight improve, your doctor will guide you on when and how to safely stop the medicine to avoid withdrawal or other issues. Never stop abruptly without consultation.
Please consult a nutritionist and an internal medicine specialist or endocrinologist who can tailor treatment and monitor your overall health while aiming to improve your muscle mass safely.
