How soon can I use a home pregnancy test kit?
For the most accurate result, you should take a home pregnancy test from the first day of your missed period. Some highly sensitive tests can be used as early as 4 to 5 days before your expected period. However, testing too early increases the risk of a false-negative result because the pregnancy hormone, hCG, may not yet be at detectable levels. If you get a negative result but still suspect you are pregnant, wait a few days and test again. For the best results, use your first morning urine, as it contains the highest concentration of the hormone.
