I had unprotected sex and want to take an i-Pill (levonorgestrel). I am currently taking Cabgolin tablet after completing Crina-NCR tablet. Is it safe to take the i-pill with these medications, and will it affect my expected period?

Yes, you can generally take an i-Pill (levonorgestrel) while taking Cabgolin (cabergoline), as there are no known clinically significant interactions between these medicines. Since you have already completed your course of Crina-NCR, it should not prevent you from using emergency contraception if needed. Take the i-Pill as soon as possible after unprotected sex. It is most effective when taken within 24 hours, but it can still be taken up to 72 hours after intercourse. The i-Pill may affect your expected period. Your next period may come earlier or later than usual and may be lighter or heavier than normal. In addition, because you have recently taken Crina-NCR (norethisterone) and are currently taking Cabgolin, your menstrual cycle may already be influenced, making changes in the timing of your period more likely. If your period is more than one week late, is unusually light, or you develop symptoms of pregnancy, take a pregnancy test and consult your doctor.
