I am feeling a burning sensation in my eyes, and I have been using I-Dew eye drops, but the discomfort is still there. Is this something normal with these drops, or what should I do now to get relief?
A mild temporary stinging for a few seconds can sometimes happen with lubricating eye drops like I-Dew, especially if the eyes are already very dry or irritated, but persistent burning or discomfort after using the drops is not something that should be ignored. The irritation may happen because the drops are not suitable for your eyes, the eyes are very dry, there is an allergy or infection, or the preservatives in the drops are causing sensitivity with repeated use. Burning eyes can also happen from long screen time, lack of sleep, dust exposure, AC air, or eye strain. Try reducing screen exposure for some time, blinking more frequently, staying hydrated, and avoiding rubbing the eyes. If possible, preservative-free lubricating drops are often more comfortable for people using drops regularly. If the burning is increasing or if there is redness, swelling, discharge, blurred vision, or light sensitivity, an eye examination is important to find the exact cause and prevent worsening irritation.
