I am having stomach and intestinal pain. What could be causing this discomfort, and what treatment or diet changes may help relieve it?
Stomach and intestinal pain can happen for many reasons, such as indigestion, gas, infection, acidity, constipation, food intolerance, irritation, or stress. The pain might feel like cramps, bloating, burning, heaviness, or twisting, depending on the cause and the area affected. Eating spicy or oily foods, skipping meals, not drinking enough water, or eating contaminated food can make things worse. You might feel better by eating simple homemade food, drinking enough fluids, eating smaller meals, and avoiding spicy, oily, or processed foods for a while. Soft foods like rice, bananas, toast, curd, soup, or khichdi are usually gentle on the stomach. Doctors may suggest antacids, gas-relief medicine, probiotics, or treatment for infection, depending on your symptoms and how long they last. Getting enough sleep and managing stress can also help if your pain is related to bowel sensitivity or acidity. Consult a doctor if you have severe vomiting, blood in your stool, high fever, dehydration, ongoing diarrhoea, or if your stomach pain gets much worse.
