I have been suffering from dry eyes for the last 6 months. My doctor prescribed Restasis, On tear gel drops, and Iflomax at night, but I still have discomfort. What else can help improve my dry eye problem?

Dry eyes lasting for many months can happen when the eyes do not produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly. Long screen time, reduced blinking, air conditioning, ageing, poor sleep, eyelid gland blockage, and inflammation around the eye surface can all worsen dryness and irritation. Burning, heaviness, eye fatigue, and gritty sensations are common in chronic dry eye problems. Restasis, On Tear Gel, and Iflomax may take several weeks or months to show full benefit, especially when inflammation is severe. Using warm compresses, blinking exercises, screen breaks, proper sleep, and avoiding direct airflow from fans or AC units toward the eyes may also gradually improve comfort. Increasing room humidity and staying hydrated can help reduce tear evaporation. An eye specialist may sometimes check for eyelid gland dysfunction, allergy, or autoimmune conditions if symptoms continue despite treatment. Inform a doctor if severe pain, worsening redness, light sensitivity, or sudden vision changes develop.
