I have been using Itaspor capsules, Abzorb powder, Canditral capsules, Zyrtec tablets, and Luly cream for the last 5 months, but the itching keeps returning after temporary relief. What alternative medicines should I take?
If itching keeps coming back even after using antifungal capsules, creams, powder, and antihistamines for several months, it usually means the problem is not just a simple fungal infection anymore, or the infection is getting repeatedly re-triggered. Common reasons include incomplete treatment duration, reinfection from clothes or close contacts, excessive sweating, tight clothing, or sometimes a wrong diagnosis where conditions like eczema, contact dermatitis, or mixed bacterial-fungal infection look similar to ringworm and keep recurring. At this stage, simply changing to stronger medicines on your own is not a good idea, because long-term antifungal use without confirmation may not solve the root cause. Medicines/treatment should be taken only if advised or prescribed by your doctor. A dermatologist review is important now to re-check the diagnosis, and they may suggest a skin examination, scraping test, or change in treatment strategy based on what is actually present. Along with medical review, hygiene plays a big role in keeping skin dry, avoiding tight synthetic clothing, washing clothes in hot water, and not sharing towels. If the reinfection source is not controlled, symptoms often return even after strong medicines.
