I have some red colored marks on my hands and back. What could these marks be, and what should I do to treat them?
Red colored marks on the hands and back can be caused by an allergy, fungal infection, eczema, heat rash, insect bites, dry skin, psoriasis, or irritation from soaps, chemicals, sweat, or clothing. Some marks may appear flat and mild, while others can become itchy, scaly, or spread slowly over time, depending on the cause. Treatment usually depends on whether the marks are itchy, painful, dry, ring-shaped, or spreading. Moisturisers and gentle skin care may help if dryness or irritation is the main problem, while antifungal or anti-allergy treatment may be needed in some cases. Avoid scratching the area repeatedly because this can increase redness and dark marks. Using mild soaps, keeping the skin clean, and avoiding harsh chemicals or excessive sweating may also help reduce irritation. If the marks continue increasing, become painful, develop scaling or pus, or do not improve after basic care, the skin condition may need closer examination to identify the exact cause and choose the right treatment.
