I have ringworm on my neck, and it has been causing itching and irritation. What treatment or cream may help cure it properly and prevent it from spreading?
Ringworm on the neck is a common fungal infection that often causes itching, redness, circular rashes, and irritation. The infection can spread more easily with sweat, moisture, close skin contact, sharing towels, wearing tight clothes, or not drying off well after bathing. If left untreated, fungal infections can slowly get bigger. To help recovery, keep the area clean and dry. Wear loose cotton clothes, try not to scratch, and avoid sharing towels, pillows, or clothing, since the infection can spread through contact. Antifungal creams like clotrimazole, luliconazole, terbinafine, or ketoconazole are often used for ringworm, but the best treatment depends on how severe and how long the infection has been present. Do not use steroid combination creams without a doctor's advice. These may reduce itching for a short time, but can make fungal infections worse later. Wash your clothes and towels often and dry them well, preferably in sunlight. Consult a doctor if the rash spreads quickly, develops pus, becomes painful, or does not get better after proper treatment, as some cases may need oral antifungal medicine.
