I keep getting dandruff again and again, and even after using KZ lotion, the problem is still not improving properly. Is there any other treatment that may work better for me?
If dandruff keeps coming back even after using KZ lotion, it usually means the scalp problem is more long-term, like seborrheic dermatitis. In this condition, oil, normal skin yeast, and scalp sensitivity keep triggering flakes and itching again and again, so a single lotion may only give temporary relief. Things like stress, sweating, weather changes, and frequent oiling can also make it flare repeatedly. In such cases, treatment often works better when it is consistent rather than one-time. Medicated shampoos like ketoconazole, zinc pyrithione, or selenium sulfide are commonly used on a regular schedule and then continued weekly as maintenance even after improvement. Sometimes doctors also add scalp lotions or short courses of soothing or anti-inflammatory medicines if itching and redness are more active. Keeping the scalp clean, washing off sweat, and avoiding heavy oiling during flare-ups can help reduce recurrence. If there is still no proper improvement despite regular care, it is better to see a dermatologist again, because a few other conditions, like psoriasis, can look similar and may need a different treatment approach.
