This is my daughter's third case of conjunctivitis in a month. Toba was used initially, followed by Zymac drops, however it returned a week after the drops were stopped. We are concerned about whether L-Pred, which she is now receiving, can be used in addition to antibiotic drops. Please advise.

Zymac and Toba are antibiotics, but if the issue persists, it might not be a straightforward bacterial infection. Because steroids can exacerbate certain infections or raise intraocular pressure if used improperly, L-Pred, a steroid eye drop, should only be administered precisely as prescribed by an eye expert. Keep the child's hands clean, refrain from rubbing their eyes, wash pillowcases and towels separately, and don't share eyewear with other people. It is important to see an ophthalmologist for a thorough eye examination and to rule out viral or allergy reasons because the illness is recurrent.
