I have a 10-month-old baby who has had a cough for the last 2 days. Is it safe to give Levolin Plus syrup, or should I use something else for her?
Seeing a 10-month-old with a cough for a couple of days can be worrying, but in most cases, this is due to a mild viral infection or cold that improves on its own with basic care. At this age, the airways are very sensitive, so even small mucus buildup can cause coughing, especially at night or while feeding. It is not safe to give Levolin Plus syrup or any combination cough medicine to an infant without a doctor's advice, as doses and suitability depend on the child's condition and weight. Instead, focus on simple care like keeping the baby well hydrated with breast milk or formula, clearing the nose gently using saline drops if needed, and ensuring the sleeping position is slightly elevated under supervision. Avoid exposure to smoke, strong smells, or cold air. Medicines/treatment should be taken only if advised or prescribed by your doctor. If the baby develops fast breathing, wheezing, poor feeding, fever, or worsening cough, a pediatric evaluation is important without delay.
