I have low hair density and thinning hair. Kindly suggest treatments, medicines, or lifestyle changes that may help make my hair thicker and denser.
Low hair density and thinning hair can happen due to genetics, stress, poor nutrition, dandruff, hormonal imbalance, lack of sleep, anaemia, thyroid problems, or frequent use of harsh hair products and heat styling. Improving hair thickness usually requires a combination of proper scalp care, good nutrition, healthy lifestyle habits, and sometimes medical treatment, depending on the cause. Eating a balanced diet rich in protein, iron, zinc, vitamins, eggs, milk, pulses, nuts, fruits, and green vegetables is very important because hair needs proper nutrition to grow well. Avoid crash dieting, smoking, excessive stress, and poor sleep, as these can worsen hair thinning. Use a mild shampoo regularly to keep the scalp healthy, and avoid frequent colouring, straightening, tight hairstyles, and excessive heat from dryers or styling tools. If dandruff or scalp itching is present, treating it properly is also important. Some people benefit from treatments such as minoxidil lotions, nutritional supplements, or other hair-growth therapies prescribed by a dermatologist, but these should be used only after proper evaluation. Since hair thinning can sometimes be related to vitamin deficiencies or hormonal issues, a doctor may advise blood tests to identify the exact cause. Hair improvement usually takes a few months, so patience and consistency are important.

I have been experiencing severe hair fall for the past year. A dermatologist in my hometown prescribed Regain, Logihair capsules (once daily after lunch), and Clonate gel, but I have not noticed much improvement. What else can I do to control hair fall and improve hair growth?
Severe hair fall that continues for a year despite treatment can be frustrating, but many cases improve once the exact cause is identified and treated properly. Medicines such as Regain (minoxidil), hair supplements like Logihair, and scalp treatments often need several months of regular use before noticeable improvement appears, and stopping treatment early may reduce the benefits. Hair loss can happen due to multiple reasons, such as stress, dandruff, anaemia, thyroid imbalance, hormonal changes, vitamin deficiencies, poor nutrition, weight loss, illness, or hereditary hair thinning. If you have not already done so, it would be helpful to get blood tests done for iron levels, vitamin D, vitamin B12, thyroid function, and other nutritional deficiencies, because correcting these problems can significantly improve hair growth. Continue eating a balanced diet rich in protein, eggs, milk, pulses, nuts, green vegetables, fruits, and plenty of water, as hair health depends greatly on nutrition. Avoid tight hairstyles, excessive oiling, frequent hair colouring, heat styling, and harsh shampoos, as these can weaken the hair further. Managing stress, sleeping well, and exercising regularly can also help reduce hair shedding. If your scalp has dandruff, itching, or redness, treating the scalp condition properly is equally important. Since you have not seen much improvement so far, a follow-up visit with a dermatologist is advisable. The doctor may reassess the diagnosis, adjust your medicines, or suggest other treatments such as medicated shampoos, oral medicines, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, or other hair-growth procedures depending on the cause of your hair fall. Hair regrowth is usually gradual, so patience and consistent treatment are very important.
