My eyes are red and constantly watering. What eye drops or medication should I use?
Red, watery eyes are common and often caused by mild allergies or dry eyes. To soothe your eyes, you can try over-the-counter lubricating eye drops (artificial tears) containing carboxymethylcellulose. If allergies are the suspected cause, antihistamine eye drops containing ketotifen can help relieve the itching and watering. Applying a clean, cool compress over closed eyes for a few minutes can also provide quick comfort. Please avoid rubbing your eyes. If you experience severe eye pain, changes in your vision, extreme light sensitivity, or if the symptoms do not improve within a couple of days, please consult an eye doctor for a proper examination.
