I have symptoms of dengue fever along with headache and vomiting. What steps should I take for proper treatment?
If you have symptoms suggestive of dengue (fever, headache, vomiting), it is important to see a doctor and get a blood test to confirm it. Meanwhile, take plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids like water, ORS, coconut water, and juices to prevent dehydration. For fever and pain, you can take Paracetamol, but avoid medicines like ibuprofen or aspirin as they can increase bleeding risk. Monitor for warning signs such as severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding, or weakness; if any of these occur, seek medical care immediately. Regular follow-up and platelet monitoring may be needed as advised by your doctor.
