Is ethambutol mandatory for treating tuberculosis, and does Macox ZH Kid contain the complete combination of salts needed for this treatment?
Macox ZH Kid contains Rifampicin, Isoniazid, and Pyrazinamide. Ethambutol is not always mandatory for treating tuberculosis. In young children, it is often omitted because they cannot reliably report its potential vision-related side effects. For many pediatric patients, the three-drug combination in Macox ZH Kid is complete and sufficient for the initial intensive phase of treatment. Keep in mind that tuberculosis therapy is phased; after this initial phase, your doctor will transition the child to a continuation phase regimen. Please strictly follow your paediatrician's prescribed treatment plan.
