Medicines like Nor-Metrogyl (norfloxacin/metronidazole) and Xymex can take 24 to 48 hours to fully control diarrhea, while Decolic (dicyclomine) helps soothe stomach cramps. Since it was only the first dose, the treatment needs a bit more time to work. However, because infants can dehydrate quickly, please keep offering oral rehydration salts (ORS), breast milk, or formula frequently. If your baby's severe crying continues, or if you notice signs of dehydration like dry lips, no tears, or extreme sleepiness, please consult your pediatrician immediately.
