Can I apply Metrogyl DG Gel Forte tonight to temporarily relieve a severe toothache?which might be related to a previous root canal or a new issue?until we can see a dentist tomorrow morning?
Metrogyl DG Gel Forte (metronidazole and chlorhexidine) is an antibacterial gel for gum issues, not a pain reliever, and is not recommended for a four-year-old's acute toothache. To help her rest comfortably tonight, it is much safer to give a pediatric dose of paracetamol or ibuprofen based on her weight. Placing a cool, damp cloth on her cheek may also offer some comfort. Please see the dentist tomorrow morning as planned for a proper diagnosis.
