My husband is 69 years old and taking Midotab 2.5 mg. His dose was recently increased to 4 tablets daily. Since then, his morning blood pressure has been very low, like 65/50 and 95/57. Is this an overdose?

This may not necessarily be an overdose, but blood pressure readings like 65/50 mmHg are dangerously low and require urgent medical evaluation. Please contact his doctor immediately. Do not change or stop Midotab on your own without professional medical guidance. Midotab (midodrine) is used to raise low blood pressure, but such low readings after a dose increase show that his treatment plan needs review. Possible reasons include dose timing (midodrine is short-acting and often wears off overnight), dehydration, progression of his condition, or the need to adjust his overall regimen. Keep a log of these readings to show his doctor as soon as possible.
